A series of activities have been launched by Taiwan Nano-X 2006 for displaying Taiwan’s efforts in nanotechnology. A number of international and domestic companies, MNCs, researchers and scientists would be participating in it. The event which would last for three days includes the Taiwan Nano-X Exhibition, APEC Nanoscale Measurement Technology Forum, ANF- Education and Talent Cultivation Workshop and Global School for Advanced Studies Workshop. The event is going to be held from 27th to 29th September.
Back in the year 2003, the Taiwan government had started a six-year national program on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology which was a coordinated effort among the different ministries for the purpose of promoting R&D on the scientific front.
In order to ensure that Taiwan too progressed in the field of nanotechnology, the government chalked out a plan under which it decided to spend NT$20 billion on a six-year national program starting from 2003.
