Even though U.S. continues to be the leader in the field of nanotechnology in the world but still the effect of the government’s multibillion dollar investment in the sector could not be measured. It has been found out that very little money is being spent in understanding the various environmental and health impact of this technology.
A report presented by the National Research Council states that there has been an improved co-ordination between the various arms of government which are involved in the field of nanotechnology. It seems that the law which was passed in 2003 has transformed the research efforts but the report also stated that very less money was being invested in understanding the potential impact of this technology on the environment.
In the future nanotechnology would be having a big impact on the world but concerns are also being raised with regard to the safety risks which could erupt due to the introduction of novel methods.
