HP Labs is busy nowadays with nanotechnology. Researchers at H.P are using this technology for creating a computer chip which is eight times denser when compared with a normal chip. This is expected to increase the life of the chips. The researchers have applied the concept of nanotechnology to a class of computer chips called field programmable gate arrays or FPGA and it is expected that it would reduce costs of final product too.

Stan Williams, Director, Quantum science research, H.P. Labs stated:

We’ve demonstrated a credible means for shrinking circuit density without shrinking transistors.

If this experiment turns out to be successful then there is a chance that the company could deploy nanotechnology in its other products too. This step of H.P is expected to give the needed push required for the technology and develop confidence about it in the corporate world.
